January Art ShowWB Thompson

I have been affiliated with Mango tango for over a quarter century. But, before I joined the gallery, I knew of and appreciated Don Dahlke’s work. Initially, I was aware of his whimsical and Surrealist figures. They were always evocative and beguiling, with a sense of respect for VI Culture, along with a fun sense of humor. Later, I learned of the wide range of work that Don had always been making.  Always unmistakably Don, but so versatile and varied. It is a distinctive honor to have my works shown with his. We both show at Mango Tango in the VI, but I also see his works in other galleries in other towns. We both have had long standing gallery representation in other art markets. In this case, it’s very special because we get to be on the “same team,” gallery wise.

The works I have included reflect part of my most recent art production. I have been evolving with cut-out assemblies that are layered collages of a sort. I also have been painting the Caribbean landscape and harbor, which have always been a great source of inspiration. I am grateful to have been able to see Don’s many deep dives into surrealism, abstraction, and realism, and always find his work to be thought provoking and powerful. It will be a fun experience to see what Don’s been working on. I hope you enjoy our combined efforts.
